This is the complete 19 volume set, by Salo Wittmayer Baron. Published by Columbia University Press in 1958, this is the Second Edition, Revised and Enlarged. This massive set is a classic for anyone interested in Judaica, Jewish History, the Middle East, etc.

Volumes are in Excellent condition, appearing clearance and tight, and were possibly never read. Dust jackets are in Good to Very Good condition. (Volume I has no dust jacket; other volumes do, though some show substantial wear.) Blue cloth covers with gilt lettering and decoration.

Volumes I and II - Ancient Times; Volumes III through VIII - High Middle Ages (500-1200); Index to Volumes I-VIII; Volumes IX through XVIII - Late Middle Ages and Era of European Expansion (1200-1650).

Subjects covered: Vol. I - To the Beginning of the Christian Era; Vol. II - Christian Era: The First Five Centuries; Vol. III - Heirs of Rome and Persia; Vol. IV - Meeting of East and West; Vol. V - Religious Controls and Dissensions; Vol. VI - Laws, Homilies and the Bible; Vol. VII - Hebrew Language and Letters; Vol. VIII - Philosophy and Science; Index to Vol. I-VIII; Vol. IX - Under Church and Empire; Vol. X - On the Empire's Periphery; Vol. XI - Citizen or Alien Conjurer; Vol. XII - Economic Catalyst; Vol. XIII - Inquisition, Renaissance and Reformation; Vol. XIV - Catholic Restoration and Wars of Religion; Vol. XV - Resettlement and Exploration; Vol. XVI - Poland and Lithuania 1500-1650; Vol. XVII - Byzantines, Mamelukes and Maghribians; Vol. XVIII - The Ottoman Empire, Persia, Ethiopia, India and China.
