The original "Firenze 4 Novembre 1966" was a collection of 12 lithographs by the artist Luciano Guarnieri, created to commemorate the devastating flood that hit Florence on November 4, 1966. The lithographs captured the emotional and physical impact of the disaster, reflecting the chaos and destruction experienced in the city. Guarnieri's work not only preserved the memory of the flood but also emphasized the importance of art in documenting and remembering significant events.
This hard to find portfolio, published in 1967, is a reproduction in reduced format of the original numbered lithographs. Only 5 of the original 12 reproductions are contained in this folio. These reproductions are quite beautiful. Mom actually framed two of them.
Mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Mom actually used to have an antique store on Gramercy Park. Now that she has passed I am selling off those pieces from the store that she brought home after high rents forced her out of business.
