This special set was published in 1896 by the N.D. Thompson Publishing Company, St. Louis, and J.Q. Adams & Co, Boston

The books contain numerous illustrations, including oversized fold-out maps. The books each measure 9.75" x 12"

The binding is in good condition, though shows some minor discoloration (see photo #5).

The first volume carries a hand-written inscription from 1923.
