I value time. I bought my first PC in 1986, and have been building, upgrading, repairing PCs since 1990.
I have been working as a self-employed computer consultant, and trying to teach end-users how to save time for themselves.
I also assisted elderly people who had serious medical problems, people who were conscious of the need to organize things and leave a meaningful legacy. Sadly, some of those people passed away. I can give you references from some of their survivors.
If you are someone who, also, values his/her time, especially if you are working on projects that you believe will benefit humankind (and the flora and the fauna?), I will gladly work with you for a rate far below what I and my colleagues have been charging. In fact, you can pay me 'in kind' (especially if that works better for you, for tax purposes). I will gladly accept rare art books, internal or external hard drives, SSD drives, gift cards, and the like.
I am willing to work in all 5 boroughs (and parts of New Jersey).
Among other things, I am a writer and a visual artist. I can help you with word-processing, editing text, recording and editing audio, recording and editing video (I also work as a videographer), scanning documents, etc. I converted and edited more than 1,400 DVDs (mostly documentaries), and scanned more than 20,000 large sheets such as reproductions of paintings, photos of artwork, etc. (stitching and Photoshopping some of them later). Currently, I own an A3 Plustek scanner. Perhaps some of what I have been 'archiving' and accumulating will be of some interest to you and/or your friends.
I offer here one page that I scanned:
Work Horse - sculpture by Anna Huntington
Since 1980, when I turned 18, I myself have been working to leave a meaningful legacy to my contemporaries and future generations. I am single, and chose not to bring any children into this world. I am dedicated to improving the lives of those who are already on this planet (including some of the flora and the fauna). I seek meaning, and will not make compromises in the pursuit of more money or fame.
Feel free to send me an email describing your computer-related and similar needs.
