This is either a handcarved tray or trivet, which I only recently learned is "an object placed between a serving dish, bowl, pot, or pan and a dining table, usually to protect the table from heat damage." Both wooden handles of this one have broken off (see photo), so this is for those of you with a flair for arts and crafts who think it would be fun to repair, as well as for those who collect tiles. This is a nice pair of antique Mexican tiles.
My mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Now that she has passed I am selling off her collection.
