Beautifully hand painted, raised design, Japanese tea holder, probably from the 1940s. Embellished with gold accents, some of which have worn over time. Lid has faint hairline crack, not affecting use, that is at least 35 years old.
Of course, this can be used as a decorative object or as a cookie jar. Or . . . Whatever.
