This is a gorgeous Art Nouveau metal jewelry box. Bronze or Brass, I'm not really sure. But very heavy, very sturdy. The metal appears to have been painted a copper/gold color. The piece would look spectacular cleaned and polished, but as I know nothing about polishing metal I'll leave that to you. There is an etching on the front face of the box that may be design or may be the manufacturer's name, but I can't make it out. (See photos.)

Mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Mom actually used to have an antique store on Gramercy Park. Now that she has passed I am selling off those pieces from the store that she brought home after high rents forced her out of business.
