This is an Antique Stuffed Toy Dog. I believe it is stuffed with wood chips - that's how they did it back in the day - but I guess you won't know for sure unless you cut it open. What this means is that the doll is pretty stiff and not a very cuddly toy.

I'm not sure what the fur is made of. Horsehair? The head swivels, but neither the arms nor legs bend. It also seems to be missing its ears. But who can resist that face? If this ever was a child's doll, it really isn't one anymore. It's more for those among you who collect antique toys.

My mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Now that she has passed I am selling off her collection.
