Background: Mason's ceramics was established in England in 1796 by Miles Mason and for over 200 years has been operated by family members and recognized as one of the most important and influential names in English ceramics. In the early 19th century, Mason's developed Ironstone China which was valued for its sturdiness and resemblance to porcelain.
This piece is called Mason's Vista Turkey Platter; the exact design was discontinued circa 1890. You can see an example of this design in red if you google Masons that was sold in the range of $500; our piece is a far more pleasant color and has a crisper execution.
The artistry of the turkeys and overall design of our platter is of a very high skill level. The platter can certainly hold the largest turkey
for any household but with its size, color, and image quality, it could be hung on a wall or placed on a table for decoration.
