This is an Antique Chauncey Jerome Steeple Clock. Probably built in the mid to late 1800's. This is just a wonderful piece. The wood is in beautiful condition, and would look great on any mantle or shelf. The hand painted glass bottom is gorgeous and in great condition. The clock face itself is cracked from age, but I think that gives the clock additional character. (It is possible to buy replacement faces, but I'd recommend against it.) The two towers have tiny asymetricies. Intentional or due to a minor repair, I couldn't say. 10" wide at base, 20" tall at highest point, 4" deep.
Back when I was a kid, while my mom was busy collecting and selling antiques, my dad bought, repaired, and sold old clocks. This is one such clock. Needless to say, you don't need to be a clock afficianado to admire this beauty. When my dad was alive the clock kept time, ticked, and bonged. Today, the pendulum still swings and the bong still strikes. Both pendulum and bong can be wound. However, after a few minutes, the pendulum will come to a stop. Since I know this clock used to work, I believe all it needs is to be adjusted. The clock comes with key.
My mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Now that she has passed I am selling off her collection.
