My research says this children's book is from the early 1900's, and it looks it. The pages of this vintage edition by Hurst and Company are brown and cracked, and you need to be very careful turning the pages. This is part of the "Mother Hubbard Series" and is filled with children's nursery rhymes, both familiar and obscure. It's got some wonderful illustrations worthy of framing. My mom often tore illustrations out of ancient books, framed them, and hung them in our apartment. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what she had in mind for this book.
My mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Now that she has passed I am selling off her collection.
