Banksy X Banksy of England. Di-Faced Tenner, 10 GBP Note, 2005. Offset lithograph in colors on paper. 3 x 5-5/8 inches. Banksy’s Di-Faced Tenner is a counterfeit-style £10 note, replacing the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with that of Princess Diana. The note also changes the traditional text — instead of “Bank of England,” it reads: "Banksy of England" And under Diana’s portrait, it says: "Trust No One". Banksy reportedly printed over 100,000 of these fake notes, and some were actually thrown into crowds at events, causing confusion over whether they were real. This work is a perfect example of Banksy’s street-level satire, blending graphic design, political commentary, and pop culture. It blurs the line between currency, propaganda, and art, and remains a key moment in his artistic career.
