Not sure where this mask originated, only that it's been around a long time. Could be African, from the Caribbean, Latin American, Thai, Malaysian or Indian. It's not marked in any way. There is a small hand-written note taped to the side that reads 'ABRCEOT' and I have no idea what that refers to.
Eyes have slit openings so the mask can be "worn" for ritual or costumed events. There are also 3 holes along each side so a tie could be added for wearing. In addition, there's a small wire at the top for hanging on the wall to display.
Mask measures 26 inches overall and is 7.5 inches across at its widest.
A wonderfully decorative piece -- in Excellent condition.
