Bookkeeper (New York)

compensation: Salary commensurate with experience

An industry leading General Contractor is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will assist in managing the day-to-day accounting and finance requirements, as well as assist in payroll and office administration.

Key Responsibilities:
• Track expenses, budget, taxes, cash flow, receipts and other financial dealings of the company
• Balance and maintain accurate ledgers
• Match purchase orders with invoices
• Provide regular financial reports (weekly, monthly and yearly)
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable
• Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts
• Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances
• Assist in biweekly payroll processing to include recording pay data, submitting data to generate paychecks, issuing paystubs and resolving discrepancies on a timely basis.
• Answering phones
• General administrative duties
• Ad hoc projects

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of experience in related field
• Knowledge of standard accounting procedures
• Highly proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Suite, including Word and Excel
• Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills and detail-oriented
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality while working with company data
