My name is Desiree and I have nearly 20 years of experience in teaching private music lessons! It’s been quite a rewarding journey and I would love for you to join my music lesson program!
Music lessons are available for children as young as 6 years old (piano & singing are more suitable for this age), up to and including adults and seniors! Teaching a variety of different age groups has been one of the most interesting aspects of my teaching journey!
I offer a variety of different lessons including: guitar, voice & piano! Lessons for violin, viola, electric bass & clarinet are currently limited but will open up during the school year! Songwriting, music theory, college prep. classes and other subjects are also currently available for your educational enjoyment!

Please note that music lessons are held at my home music lesson studio in Deer Park, NY. Additionally, all students are strongly encouraged to be flexible regarding virtual lesson participation via FaceTime. It’s helpful for a variety of reasons!

“How long will it take me to see progress?”
It all depends on the student’s level of interest and commitment to practice time outside of lesson time!
“What can I expect during my first lesson?”
Depending on if it’s an instrumental or a voice lesson, a brief history will be discussed of experience level as well as establishing the fundamentals of the instrument of choice or vocal technique. This is done through the establishment of an ongoing lesson plan that develops over the first several weeks of lessons. Some categories that are included in the lesson plan are: exercises, scales, chord studies, music reading studies and, of course, songs! For vocalists, breathing exercises as well as vocal technique exercises inclusive of vowel use and do re mi syllables will be covered!
