Lot Attendant at a Repossession Company (Oceanside) - PRI
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Part-time (10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday)
Job Title: Repo Lot Attendant
We are a busy local repossession company looking for a reliable part-time lot attendant. Experience in impound or tow yards is beneficial but not required; we'll provide thorough training.
We're looking for someone organized, detail-oriented, and good at multitasking. You'll primarily work outdoors in various weather conditions, so flexibility and adaptability are key. Excellent communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude are essential, along with diligence in managing paperwork and following established procedures. You'll also coordinate closely with our main office for scheduling and updates, and you'll be working closely with and assisting the yard manager.
There is a small team in the yard; punctuality and dependability are paramount.
Our yard operates with a small, close-knit team. Given the nature of our operations, which often involves time-sensitive processing of recovered assets, punctuality and dependability are not just preferred qualities—they are absolutely paramount and non-negotiable requirements for success in this role. Every team member's timely arrival and consistent reliability directly impacts the efficiency and security of the entire yard. A high degree of commitment to showing up on time and being a reliable presence is essential for maintaining smooth workflow and proper inventory control.
Customer Interaction and Customer Service Focus:
A significant part of this role involves interacting with customers who are redeeming their personal belongings and vehicles. These situations require patience, professionalism, and empathy—customers may be frustrated or upset, and your ability to remain calm, courteous, and helpful makes a real difference. Strong customer service skills are essential for this position. You'll be the face of our company during these interactions which are stressful for our customers, so we need someone who can handle sensitive situations with tact while still following proper procedures and policies.
Vehicle and Yard Cleanup Work:
A core part of this job involves cleaning out repossessed vehicles and maintaining yard cleanliness. This means removing garbage, personal belongings, and larger abandoned items from vehicles and the lot. You should be prepared to encounter vehicles in various states of cleanliness—some may contain spoiled food, strong odors, pest infestations, or unsanitary conditions.
You are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the entire property, including the yard and the office trailer. This involves daily tasks such as taking out the garbage, sweeping, and picking up trash.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist customers professionally and courteously during vehicle and personal property redemptions
- Inventory and secure personal items from repossessed vehicles
- Clean out vehicles, including removing garbage, debris, and abandoned items
- Organize and properly dispose of personal property according to company procedures
- Empty garbage cans, take out trash, and keep the lot tidy and organized
- Sweep out trailers and maintain overall yard cleanliness
- Photograph vehicles and personal property for documentation
- Release vehicles to transport services and customers
- Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Maintain detailed and accurate paperwork related to vehicle custody
- Perform basic computer tasks and use company apps
