Oil (Mobil 1 10W-30 fully synthetic) & filter (Mobil 1) done today (10/3/2025).
I’ve had this car for two years- I’ve put over 20,000 miles on it hassle free.
New tires 14,000 miles ago.
New headlight lens & upgraded LEDs for WAY BETTER night-time visibility (no flickering either AND oncoming traffic doesn’t flash me- the lights are upgraded not ruined, unlike some lighting ‘modifications’ you see on the road).
Brand new hybrid system battery installed at 177k/August 2021 at a cost of almost $3,000 (have receipts).
New Bosch wiper blades installed August 2025.
Dr. Prius system health check indicates all is well with the hybrid system.
Currently 210,898 miles. This is my daily so miles will go up.
Everything works- keyless entry, AC, cruise. The interior is is FANTASTIC shape (as you can see).
This is a great little car. It has taken me everywhere I’ve wanted to go and then some. I bought it when I first moved to NY because I quickly realized the roads, traffic and distracted drivers made it too stressful to own something newer/more expensive. I had honestly intended on keeping it for six months while I got my feet under the table but I’ve ended up keeping it for two whole years.
It has flown through both NYS annual inspections I had performed on it. It has no check engine lights and no major mechanical or structural (rust) issues.
HOWEVER…
It is a 18 year old, almost-211k mile Prius for sale for $3k…so it is not perfect.
The Quirks:
• Clear coat is fading on truck & roof
• Bottom of passenger front door has some minor rust (the only place on the vehicle)
• A previous owner drove over a parking lot curb and damaged the front bumper. The lower section is held together with cable ties (has been since I got it and it looks fine and isn’t really an issue)
• There is a AC-fan vent actuator under the dash that makes a clicking noise. This is easily turned off by turning on the front defog (I can explain this minor bug more in person)
• Sometimes it’s challenging to fill gas all the way full. This is a common Prius issue. You just gotta be patient with it.
Other than that, this is a perfect car for someone who needs a cheap runabout. Gas mileage is phenomenal (45mpg+). Maintenance is cheap, parts are plentiful and there is a literal library of information available online in forums and videos if anything ever does go wrong, it’s the perfect DIY’er (if that’s what you’re into).
Selling as we’re moving to GA. I love her, but I won’t be driving her 1800 miles South. It should stay here and be a perfect companion for the next NYC/LI custodian.
Price is negotiable within reason. I'd like it to go to a good home. No dealers/junk-yards.
