Bradford Exchange: Bicentennial 1776 - 1976 Dwight D. Eisenhower NEW UNCIRCULATED MINT Dollar Coin
BA17-000040-007
The last U.S. large size dollar, the Eisenhower Dollar paid tribute to the popular WWII Supreme Allied commander, 5-star general, and two-term President. It also saluted the historic Apollo II mission that landed the first man on the moon - a result of Eisenhower's support of NASA. Minted from 1971 to 1978, a special dual dated 1776 - 1976 issue was struck for America's Bicentennial. A new reverse by Dennis R. Williams with the Liberty. Bell and the Moon symbolized both America's past and future.
