This pair of beautiful 19th century hand carved white Carrara marble busts of Jesus & Mary bust signed C. Chilli an important Italian sculptor active between the late 1800s and early 1900s these bust were sculpted with rare precision typical of the best Italian sculptors. Both faces express all the sweetness and serenity of Jesus and Mary. Fantastic details like the anatomy, drapery, and hair. These busts are life size and very heavy. My family and I have been in the ecclesiastical restoration business for over 80 years and we have acquired many religious items from churches. These hand carved life size white Carrara marble busts almost never come up for auction and are extremely difficult to acquire. It's almost impossible to find the matching pair together. These busts are being sold as a pair only and cannot be split up. Local Pick up or delivery of the busts can be made to any location within a 50 mile radius of zip code 07031 for an additional $150.00 delivery charge. I will also consider shipping however the buyer is responsible for any and all costs associated with the packing, shipping and art insurance associated with this transaction. These amazing pieces has been in my family's private collection for many decades in storage. I will be moving within the year or so which is why I am selling off many items from my family art collection.
