Nadia Skornjakova was born in Ukraine in the Former USSR. Early in her youth she move and raised in Estonia city Tallinn.
She comes from Family of Artists. Both her father and older brother are also very accomplished in their artistic area of interest.
She spent a lot of both of them and decided early to move into an artistic direction.
She graduated in 1986 from Mukhin Academy of Fine Arts Institute in Leningrad. There she studied interior decor and design.
She worked artistically preparing for Live Theater in Leningrad Tallinn.
Nadia's earlier works were closer to realism, but the vogue of the nineties, which favored symbolic abstraction, had its effect on the artist.
Immigrating to the US had challenged her artistic direction. The country, with its diverse ethnic and cultural landscape, has broadened her area of interest.
Nadia's creativity rest on Modern Impressionism. She works in pasties pallet-knife technique with optimum textures on canvas. The subjects of her works are decorative still-life and landscapes.
During the period 1999-2011, Nadia had participated in numbers art exhibitions in New York City , New Jersey, Russia and Kazakhstan.
