1950s 24” all original Polly Bride Doll in her original box. The doll has a vinyl head with open and shut eyes, and a one-piece vinyl stuffed body. The box isn’t in the greatest shape. It’s been taped up with clear tape in many spots to hold its shape. It has some water-type stains, creases, and old, yellowed tape marks. The doll itself is near mint. She has one little spot in the back along the bottom of her veil where the lace tore, and her vinyl ankles are misshaped from the way she was stored for many years. This doll was never played with or displayed and was protected in plastic and inside her box most of her life.
The doll was an advertising doll for Pond’s Cold Cream. The box indicates she was put out by Citro Mfg. Co, Inc. Brooklyn, NY. She is very similar to the large Deluxe Reading dolls marketed in supermarkets in the 1950s.
