Fabulous pair of folding garden armchairs by Samuel Copelon. These are 1930s vintage.
Super ornate iron chairs of classical design, featuring a lyre form back, topped by brass swan heads, arm rest rings and each leg terminating in a brass paw. These are considered outdoor chairs, but they could also be used inside for any Art Deco/Hollywood Regency or Maximalist decor.
In overall age/used appropriate condition, with commensurate wear. The chairs fold and the open locking latches work smoothly. Some surface marks, wear/tarnish. No breaks, looseness or missing parts. The seats are not attached and need reupholstering.
The chairs measure 36" tall, 20.5" deep and 20.75" wide. The seat height is 17.5" and measures 15.5"x 14.5". Unmarked, undated.
Available in my booth J1 at Stratford Antique Center, 400 Honeyspot Road, Stratford, CT. EZ off/on exit 31 (N&S), open daily 10-5.
