Curtis Jeré Owl Sculpture (signed 1967)

Brass and Enamel Owl Sculpture with Enamel Eyes, on large wooden base. Signed and Dated.

Early date (I’m told the earliest date for any Jere owl sculpture was 1965 and few were made in those first years).

Dimensions of entire sculpture: height just under 17 inches; width about 11 inches; depth about 9 inches.
Dimensions of base: height about 3-1/2 inches; width about 9 inches; depth about 5-1/4 inches.
The enamel eyes are picking up reflections (of the flash, overhead lights, nearby objects); multiple photos provided to show this.

Some scratches/marks on the base; perhaps some signs of age on the body, although all of that may be original.

Mid-Century Modern; Brutalist Style

Pick-up only; in lower Manhattan, NY, or Ridgefield, Connecticut.
