You add water to the top part, put it back on the base, then turn the dial to the right.
The steam comes out of the top immediately.
The steam is not hot.
You adjust the direction of the steam by turning the outlet at the top.
You can insert Vicks Vapor Pads into the small door under the adjustment dial.
This humidifier is unused, except to show that it works.
