I am seeking an experienced American Sign Language (ASL) instructor to conduct a 2-hour, in-person introductory ASL session for Radiologic Technology students at a community college in New York City.
The focus of the session will be practical ASL phrases commonly used during radiology exams, including patient positioning, basic instructions, reassurance, and safety-related communication. Students will already be familiar with the ASL alphabet prior to the class, allowing the session to focus on applied, healthcare-specific communication rather than introductory material.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ASL educator, interpreter, or Deaf professional with healthcare or teaching experience to support future healthcare providers in delivering more inclusive patient care.
Details:
Duration: 2 hours
Format: In person
Audience: Radiologic Technology students
Location: Bronx, NYC
Compensation: Honorarium provided
If interested, please reply with a brief description of your background and experience teaching ASL, particularly in healthcare or educational settings.
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
