Pleasure Craft Marine Engine, Model 4140 - 4 Cylinder Gas - 140HP. W/ velvet drive 71C transmission. Please see link below to run video. I removed this from a 1988 Eastern 22’ Lobster boat. I’m not sure if this was the original engine or a repower. I never ran the engine with the boat in the water, but I did run it on land and on blocks. Hours Counter shows 1040 Hours. This is a rare engine. I'm selling this as a running core. It started easily on a 35°F day on a jump pack + alagtor clips to the ballast risistor. I haven't done anything to make this engine more presentable. As you can see in pictures it has some rust on the gear box. Small hole rust hole on the flywheel the dust cover. The wiring should be cleaned up, I would replace hoses, impeller, etc. etc. This engine is probably best suited if you have this same engine in your boat and want to rebuild this one or use it for it’s rare parts (distributer, water pump, manifolds, carb, fuel pump, etc.). The transmission is approx. 2:1 ratio (missing tag, but checked with a photo tachometer, hence running it on blocks out of the boat). This was running a right hand propeller. Small leak on the transmission cooler hose. If you just need the engine and not the transmission we can probably figure something out. The engine is located on City island, NY (10464 zip code if you want to look it up) For pick or this can be freight shipped to you on a pallet. If picking up I can assist with loading via a forklift, or Shop Crane.
