About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable School Custodian with a valid HVAC license to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable learning environment for students and staff while performing minor repairs and overseeing building systems.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily custodial duties including cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices.
Operate and maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper heating, cooling, and ventilation throughout the building.
Monitor and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Conduct minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, and building fixtures as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and building codes.
Assist with snow removal, event setup, and emergency maintenance when required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Valid HVAC license (required).
Previous custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Must pass background check and fingerprint clearance.
Schedule:
Full-time; Monday–Friday (occasional evenings or weekends for school events).
Compensation:
$28 per hour with opportunities for overtime.
