Pens Of Power, founded by a Grammy-nominated, American Music Award–winning songwriter, is seeking dynamic Teaching Artists to facilitate workshops in schools and youth programs.
About Pens Of Power
For over 18 years, Pens Of Power has empowered students through writing, performance, mentorship, and cultural awareness. Our workshops help scholars discover their voices while building literacy, self-confidence, and college/career readiness.
We’re looking for:
Songwriters, poets, spoken word artists, MCs, or performers with teaching/facilitation skills
Experience working with youth (grades 3–12) in schools, after-school programs, or community spaces
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Reliability, creativity, and a collaborative spirit
Role Details:
Facilitate Pens Of Power workshops in schools (NYC metro area + other U.S. cities)
Guide students in writing and performance-based activities
Encourage self-expression, critical thinking, and community-building
Training and curriculum support provided
Compensation: Paid per workshop/session (rates discussed during interview).
