We are a large martial arts school teaching HapKiDo to adults and children. We are open seven days a week with 6 daily classes. The position of dojang manager encompasses a few different and important roles.
The dojang manager would oversee all front desk duties including membership payment database, processing new members, preparing applications for promotion tests, answering phones and emails and be a representative of the school.
In addition to the front desk responsibilities, the dojang manager would oversee maintenance staff and help keep the facilities in tip-top shape. These responsibilities would include: changing lightbulbs, garbage bags, cleaning mats, other light cleaning, ordering supplies, overseeing inventory.
A third component of the position would include helping with the children’s programs. This responsibility would include assisting in HapKiDo classes, helping assist in the afterschool program and interact with children and parents.
This position also includes being available to help with outreach events such as street and health fairs.
Candidates do not have to have previous martial arts experience, but a strong interest and ability to learn quickly are required.
Qualifications and experience required:
Diligence, detailed and very thorough
Interest and practice of being physically fit
Interest in martial arts
Experience working with the public including children
Experience with membership software and databases
Excellent writing and speaking skills
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
Ability to work with Google Docs and Drive
The position is around 30 hours a week and would be afternoon to early evening, and occasional weekend days.
