Looking for a roommate for my rent-stabilized 2BR apartment in Clinton Hill, starting Oct 1. Located right in the charming, historic neighborhood of Clinton Hill, the quintessential Brooklyn neighborhood and cultural heart of the city. Top floor apartment on a lovely tree-lined brownstone block close to vibrant stretches of restaurants, bars, and cultural events.

Monthly rent is $850 not including gas, utilities, and internet, and will go up to $1,009 in December. That person will be subletting from me so they don't have to go through a lengthy application process. Some information about the apartment below!

Location
*close to the Clinton Hill/Bed Stuy border and right by the very vibrant and lively Fulton St. Nearest restaurants/bars are Coffeeland, Hartley's, Smor, Maya Congee, Otway, Casanara, Sisters, Speedy Romeo, Clementine's, and others.
*Closest subways are the Clinton-Washington C and Classon G.
*18-min walk from Pratt and 21 minutes to Fort Greene Park.
*Key Foods is a 3-minute walk away, plus other grocery stores, including Mr. Kiwi for fresh juices, flowers, and discount produce
*Closest gyms/workout studios are Blink Fitness, Dean Crossfit, Tabata Ultimate Fitness, and a couple other yoga studios in the area too

Apartment
*2 bedrooms/1 bath. Bedroom is unfurnished. It has a huge closet, sunny windows, and there are two more closets in the living room so there's plenty of storage space. The apartment is pretty spacious as far as NYC apartments go, with proximity to a subway station.
*$850/month not including gas, utilities, and internet, which can be anywhere from $70 (winter) to $170 (summer). Rent will increase to $1,009 in December because the management is increasing my rent. We are rent-stabilized so this won't go up much further. An additional cost to consider is I do like having a $180 cleaner come in every month.
*the living room comes with a very cool cloud neon light installation; the kitchen has a washer/dryer in-unit, built-in microwave, full-sized oven and gas stoves. The piano will (sadly) leave with the current roommate.
*fifth floor walk up so it's a great workout + great views / lots of sun + no noise from upstairs neighbors!

Your roommate
A writer and freelance book publicist in her thirties who has lived in NYC for over a decade. Originally from Malaysia. I travel about 1/4 of the year (back home to Malaysia and on writing retreats) and will sublet my bedroom when I do. You are welcome to do the same.

Interested? Next steps!
Tell me more about yourself, why you're in New York, and let's schedule a time to meet to make sure this is the right fit for both of us. No pets allowed, and no couples. Open to short or long term stays. You will be subletting from me so no need to go through a formal application process.
