Looking for a third roommate for a great 3BR/1BA apartment in Bushwick (Troutman St between Evergreen & Bushwick Ave). The apartment is a 4-minute walk to the Myrtle/Broadway J/M/Z and about a 15-minute walk to the Morgan Ave L, making for an easy commute to Manhattan (~15 minutes from either stop).
You would be signing a new 1-year lease starting 6/1 with two current roommates. No application fee, but the building will require standard documentation (W-2, pay stubs, ID, credit report, etc.) for approval. Our current roommate is leaving by 5/4 though, so there is the opportunity to move in as early as 5/6 for a pro-rated month's rent, before the 12 month lease begins on 6/1.
Location
Right in the heart of Bushwick — short walk to tons of bars, restaurants, bodegas, grocery stores, and essentials. (Troutman St between Evergreen & Bushwick Ave)
The Room
Medium sized but cozy. Fits a queen bed, dresser, and desk comfortably. Includes a smaller closet for storage. 1 window. Please note, room has been painted white since these pictures were taken.
The Apartment
Hardwood floors, central air/heat, and a large shared living/kitchen space with a movable island, 2 couches, and TV (streaming only, we don't have cable). There’s also a great balcony for warmer months. Layout includes a main living area with a hallway leading to the three bedrooms and bathroom. We are on the 3rd floor of a 5 story building.
There are washer/dryers in the basement and we have a reloadable card to pay for them, and there is also a laundromat around the corner if you prefer to drop off. The building is well-maintained, responsive management, no pest issues, and includes an elevator.
The Roommates
You’ll be living with Sean (he/him) and Nico (they/them), both in our late 30s/early 40s. We’re friendly, respectful, and keep a clean, low-key home. Not a party apartment, more of a relaxed place to recharge. We've both lived here 5+ years and love the spot.
Nico works from home in app development and project management, and Sean works in advertising with a mix of WFH and some days in Jersey City. We’re often in our own routines but maintain a positive, easygoing living environment.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Clean and respectful of shared spaces
Financially stable
Generally low-key at home
Costs
Rent: $1,017/month
Utilities: typically ~$130–160/month each (electric, gas, internet). Sean pays the bills and you can Venmo/Zelle him. We also split other costs such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc, which we buy in bulk from Amazon.
Move-in: first month + security deposit
Rent is paid individually through an online system set up by the building (we all pay different amounts- your room is the smallest and thus also the least expensive).
