I will be driving up to Rochester on Monday, November 27th. I live in Rochester and my sister lives in Brooklyn, occasionally she asks me to watch her dog while she's away.
I am a college student and I drive passengers on the weekend. Normally, I'd take a train when my when my dog-sitting duty is present, but I figured I'd see what the income is like in NYC. I have a high rating (see screenshot) and I will treat this drive with the same level of professionalism as I do my regular trips.
I plan to take off no later than three pm Monday. I'll be stopping in Binghamton to fuel up and stretch the legs. This gives me an estimated time of arrival to Rochester between nine and ten pm.
If you are in need of transportation up to Rochester or any place along the drive, send an email and we can plan accordingly. I have attached a screenshot of the route I plan to take. I will be traveling light myself so there will be plenty of room in the trunk for luggage.
Today I searched the travel options (one way) to Rochester on Nov 21st and the following is what I found.
Greyhound ~8hrs (3-4stops) $65
Flix bus ~9hrs (3-4stops) $65
Amtrak ~8hrs (6 or more stops) $53
JetBlue 1&1/2hrs plus 2hrs security $84
I am asking for $45 cash (or Zelle) as contribution towards the gas expense. This is for the entire length of the trip; if your plan is to depart before Rochester, I will adjust this amount accordingly. Extra passengers can come along at a rate of $15 apiece. This is a dog friendly vehicle, if you wish to bring your canine companion be sure that they are potty trained and do not experience motion-sickness.
If you have any questions, address them in an email.
