Long time Hawkhead owner over, 35 years, I know my birds.
Start with a rolling bird tree (starting about $250). Mac has 3 but you really need only one) so you can have them with you, just not on your shoulder as my boy is right now even though he has a window perch/playpen and a rolling tree in my office.
He goes back and forth all day from his tree to get an easy bite to eat and a drink, then to his window spot to let the birds flying by his house know he is a Hawkhead, then back to his father for a scratch.
Pretty good gig being MacGyver!!!
