I bought this bass new in late 2018 (the bass was likely made in 2017) from Sweetwater and played it live for about two years. Since then it has been at home or in my practice space. It’s an excellent bass. Great 50s style neck, light and resonate, (sorry don’t know the exact weight), great balance and excellent tone. Here are some notes and changes made to this bass:
-The pickguard was changed from the original anodized gold aluminum to tortoise shell. I no longer have the original pickguard.
-Chrome bridge and pickup covers and the “tug bar” were installed which required drilling mounting holes (I wanted to further achieve the look of the original 50’s era P Bass). This was done neatly by a professional.
-There is one noticeable nick on back of the neck, see photo.
-To reduce the glossy feel of the neck, I went over the back of the neck and fret board with fine steel wool. You could probably buff it back to original glossiness if you wished to.
-This bass has some general play wear and some light scuffs here and there. I tried to show everything in the photos but it difficult to capture given its black finish, camera glare, etc. One thing to note is that the finish around the front arm contour area has a duller appearance - this is just from playing it. You may be able to buff this back a higher shine (but I think it looks cool as is).
-Lastly, you can see some slight finish wear around the neck plate, which is just from having to take the neck off to make truss rod adjustments.
