Blockhead was an amp company that built some of the best Marshall clones. They have been out of production for some time now and are getting increasingly harder to come by, especially in “one off” custom colors like the one I’m selling. They were built by Ossie Ahsen, who later went on to start the 3 Monkeys amp company with Brad Whitford of Aerosmith. The Firstborn is a killer sounding clone of the 18 watt Marshall “bluesbreaker”.
All original, excellent condition with custom cover and on/off pedal for vibrato which sounds amazing. Takes pedals extremely well. Got it in a trade from the original owner. Spent most if not all of its life in a living room which is an injustice since this amp was built to be played loud and pushed. And it is LOUD. Don’t be fooled by the 18 Watts. I can’t get it past 1 when at home. I took it to a studio once to hear what it sounded like loud and was blown away. It sings, screams and sustains in a very natural way. So beautiful. If I had the space, or band to play it loud consistently I would keep it.
