This is a 2007 Deering Golden Era 5 String Banjo in super clean condition. It sounds, plays and looks great. A maple, prewar style bluegrass banjo made like the classic banjos of the 1930's with the same materials and the same weight, design and features.
This Deering prewar style bluegrass banjo is all original with no history of repairs. This Golden Era was constructed with a 3 ply poplar/poplar/curly maple resonator with a cremona sunburst finish, a Deering -06- 20-hole bell bronze tone ring, and a quartersawn AA grade curly maple neck with an ebony fingerboard that features mother of pearl hearts & flowers inlay patterns. The neck has a width of 1 1/4” at the nut, a depth of 0.82” at the first fret, and a depth of 0.92” at the twelfth fret. The resonator measures 13 ⅞” wide. The banjo has a 26 1/4” scale and weighs 11.84 lbs. Comes with the original hardshell case and includes an extra Grover bridge.
