Having just completed the restoration of a Bechstein Model V, we were excited to take on a second Bechstein from the same era. The restoration on this 6 foot grand included:
-Refinished mahogany case (exterior of piano)
-Soundboard and belly work expertly done and refinished with the original logo placed on the soundboard as well
-New pin block was installed by one of New York’s best belly man installers
-New tuning pins and new full set of strings treble and bass
-New complete action (old rocker style modernized)
-Refinished and re-felted Dampers
-regulated and touch optimized for concert level playability
This was a complete restoration! The piano is playing and sounding exquisite.
All the pianos we restore come with a clean bill of health. That includes a soundboard and bridges in excellent shape or repaired, and a tuning pin block in excellent shape. These are all aspects of the piano that are the most expensive to repair, so their health is very important and hard to discern to the untrained eye. When we refurbish a piano, we take a full factory style regulation process. We also polish each piano and tune them to A440.

I am trained in full service piano rebuilding, concert piano tuning and repair/regulation. Additionally, I have a bachelors in piano performance from Indiana University, and have been a professional gigging pianist with a repertoire of jazz and classical music for 20 years.
My passion is simple: I find excellent pianos to restore, refurbish, and reasonably price. I aim to make the experience of purchasing a quality instrument pleasant and hassle free, which is why I ensure that piano movers and tuners are covered in the cost of the piano.
