Many bright students lose confidence when the pace of class moves too fast or when they feel embarrassed asking questions. I help kids and teenagers understand math in a calmer, clearer way so they don’t feel overwhelmed.
My name is Ben, and I’m a graduate of Stony Brook University in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. I tutor students across New York City with a patient, step-by-step approach that focuses on real understanding, not memorizing steps.
Who I work with:
• Elementary, middle, and high school students
• Students who are anxious about math or discouraged
• Kids who need extra support with foundational skills
• Teens preparing for quizzes, tests, or more advanced topics
Subjects I tutor:
• Core math skills, fractions, decimals, word problems
• Pre-Algebra and Algebra I
• Calculus I (high school and early college)
• Homework help and structured test preparation
How I tutor:
• 1-on-1, in-person sessions in Brooklyn and nearby NYC areas
• Calm explanations in simple language
• An approach centered on confidence, clarity, and steady progress
• A focus on figuring out how your child learns best, then building from there
Rates:
• Standard rate: $100 per hour
• First session: $75 (25 percent off)
• Travel fees only when necessary for tolls or parking, discussed beforehand
