compensation: $16.50-$18.50 Per Hour
employment type: full-time
experience level: no experience required
job title: Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Hood Cleaner Technician
About Us We’re an FDNY-approved fire-safety company that specializes in restaurant kitchen exhaust cleaning across all five boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester. Our crews remove combustible grease from hoods, ducts, fans, and electrostatic precipitators using commercial-grade pressure-washing equipment—most often overnight when kitchens are closed. As we grow, we’re looking for a hands-on Crew member who can grow into a hood cleaning lead, eventually running a small team and rise into higher management as we continue to grow.

What You’ll Do

Drive a company van to 1–3 restaurant sites per shift and ensure safe, timely arrivals.
Set up work areas, protect customer property, and operate hot-water pressure washers to clean hoods, ducts, fans, and precipitator units.
Coordinate access and wrap-up with restaurant managers, maintaining clear, professional communication.
Lead & train one-to-two crew members, delegating tasks and coaching on safety and quality standards.
Follow all FDNY, NFPA 96, and company procedures for fire-prevention, chemical handling, and PPE.
Inspect & document each job (before/after photos, service reports) using a mobile app.
Maintain equipment, replenish supplies, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Model reliability—arrive on time, uphold a drug-free workplace, and represent the company with honesty and respect.

What You Bring

1+ year of commercial kitchen exhaust, pressure-washing, or related labor experience.
Ability to lift 60 lbs, climb ladders, and work in hot, greasy, or confined spaces.
Flexible availability for night, early-morning, and occasional day shifts; overtime as needed.
Strong people skills—comfortable leading peers and speaking with clients.
Detail-oriented, safety-first mindset; willing to learn and follow directions.
