The back has an easel (picture frame-style) fold out leg making it self-standing. There also is a hole near the top of the back that works for hanging it on a nail.
I believe this is a mid 20th century vintage piece meant to look antique at the time. I’m not sure what period the design replicates —maybe Georgian? Feel free to educate me…
There is clouding at the center of the mirror glass and in some places along the mirror edge, especially at the bottom, indicating some age to the mirror.
The plastic frame has been beautifully antiqued in various tones of gold. This gilt finish, which already was meant to look antique at the time, has taken on a truly aged feel over the many years. The back of the mirror seems to be made of particleboard
A chunk is missing from the bottom of the frame. You could make it a project to do a repair. But given that this old replica of an antique is almost old enough to be an antique itself, the missing piece only adds to its shabby chic charm.
