The backrests are in very good shape. The original finish is desirable, but if you want to address the seat wear:
1. Clean gently
* Mix a few drops of mild dish soap in warm water.
* Wipe with a damp (not wet) microfiber cloth to remove dirt and old wax.
* Immediately dry with a soft cloth.
2. Lightly refresh the surface
* Apply Howard Feed-N-Wax, or Watco Rejuvenating Oil.
* These products feed the old finish and slightly deepen color without forming a new coating.
* Wipe on thinly, wait 20 minutes, then buff dry.
3. Blend raw patches
If some areas stay pale or chalky:
* Use clear or light “neutral” beeswax paste (e.g., Liberon, Briwax, or Goddard’s).
* Work it into the bare areas — it darkens them slightly and adds low sheen.
