Chicky’s General Store, a neighborhood grocer and café in the heart of Bed-Stuy, is looking for a passionate and experienced Sandwich Artist / Prep Cook to join our team. We’re a small, community-focused business known for serving some of the best sandwiches and prepared foods in the neighborhood. Our kitchen emphasizes seasonal cooking and low-waste practices, and we’re looking for someone who shares those values.
We’re looking for someone who:
-Is a self-starter and genuinely enjoys working in a kitchen
-Works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
-Can learn quickly and adapt on the fly
-Maintains a clean, organized, and hygienic workspace
-Brings a positive attitude every day
-Has basic knife skills
-Shows exceptional timeliness and reliability
Requirements:
-Open availability — weekends required
