RESTAURANT MANAGER — Kelang Restoran (Brooklyn)
Greenpoint, Brooklyn
Kelang Restoran, a Malaysian "Brooklynese" restaurant, is looking for a restaurant manager who cares about hospitality and approaches it creatively. You’ll run the floor, steady the team, and keep things moving when the room gets loud.
What You’ll Do
• Manage lunch and dinner services with focus and calm.
• Lead a front-of-house crew of about 7 and work hand-in-hand with the kitchen.
• Keep communication clear — menus, policies, and updates shouldn’t feel like rumors.
• Help train new staff (and retrain old ones when needed).
• Handle scheduling, ordering, and menu management (POS and delivery platforms).
• Join weekly management meetings that lead somewhere. We don't like pointless meetings
either.
• Work with the team to solve problems without turning them into epics.
Who You Are
• At least 2 years of restaurant or café management experience.
• Organized, attentive, and fluent in controlled chaos.
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and basic admin work.
• NYC Food Handler’s License.
• Flexible schedule — nights, weekends, and the odd brunch shift.
• Knows good wine, good service, and good humor.
• Passion for creating curated experiences for people.
• Bonus points for barista experience or an unhealthy curiosity about beverages.
