Rare all white Sony HDTV with floating glass trim. If you are someone who is decorating with an all white color palate and must have everything in white then this listing may be of interest to you. It is very hard to find HDTV's with a white chassis and in a world of black tv's having one in white can really stand out. The color was originally called "arctic white".

The original MSRP of this television (Model KDL-40XBR4) was $3000 and there are small high end details that reflect this like the floating glass, metal trim, light up logo in the glass, power cord with ferrite shielding and overall workmanship. Despite the age of this TV the picture quality can still hold a candle to modern televisions since it was top of the line when it was released. Very matte display/does not have high gloss look many television screens have.

There are also some advantages to having a TV of this particular style and generation. It's very sturdy and not easy to knock over like the ultra light and thin televisions of today. It has none of the ridiculous sports motion smoothing that ruins video and requires going into the settings to figure out how to disable. It's a good medium sized 40" which is not too small or ridiculously large and ostentatious. Especially trying to squeeze into a NYC apartment. It has a native 1080p resolution at 120hz which is optimal for viewing 24 frames per second film as it was intended. Having 4k resolution at this screen size would be pointless and 99% of HD media is 720p, 1080i, and 1080p anyway. The power supply for this television is internal and non-visible. Many modern ultra thin televisions have external power supplies which means having a giant brick in the middle of your power cord to manage with all your cables.

I have also added a non visible Roku streaming device that only takes up a single HDMI port making this essentially a smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

If you are a design oriented person who needs everything in white or just someone who likes white electronics there is a possibility this might be the television for you.

Thanks for looking!
