M1S is a Zigbee 3.0 hub that has a built-in RGB light made of 18 powerful LEDs and a diffuser. It can be used as an alarm, doorbell, or night light, and has a configurable brightness and color. Compared to the previous version of the Aqara Hub, the M1S has a fully fledged illumination sensor that can be used in automations via the Aqara Home app.
The Aqara Hub M1S Gen 1 is equipped with a built-in 2-watt speaker that is powerful enough to be used as a siren as well as other ways such as: Security Alerts, Doorbell, Alarm Clock, Ringtones
The Aqara Hub M1S Gen 1 requires a secure 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network connection, Wi-Fi 6 not supported.
Ensure the Hub M1S Gen 1 is within 400 inches of the Wi-Fi router (closer for a sturdier connection). Also, ensure both the Hub M1S Gen 2 and the router are on the same local area network (LAN).

How do I connect the Aqara Hub M1S to the Internet via Wi-Fi?
The hub M1S only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. If you are using a dual-band router, please turn off the 5GHz Wi-Fi network before adding the hub. Note: Wi-Fi 6 is not supported.
