Seeking organized, creative, and commited teaching assistants who love to dance, love kids, and have the capacity to commit to a dance-based after-school program that runs Tuesday afternoons with occasional weekend performing opportunities like local fairs and Dance Parade NYC.
Each week, students take deep, playful dives into movement fundamentals, choreography, improvisation, and production as they travel through a variety of dance styles throughout the year—from Modern to Hip Hop, Ballet, and World Dance.
The program has grown rapidly this year, and we’re looking for two Dance Explorers Assistants to support our faculty in working with our 5–10 year old groups.
The role includes:
Dancing along with students in class (no formal training required—just energy and enthusiasm!)
Helping with school pick-ups, craft projects, and bathroom runs
Supporting lead teachers so classes run smoothly and kids feel encouraged every step of the way
You are:
Reliable, responsible, and punctual
Warm and patient with children
Excited to be part of a creative, movement-based program
Schedule:
Tuesdays, 1:45–5:45pm (now–June)
Prospect Park South, Brooklyn
This is an excellent gowth position for dancers and new dance teachers seeking more teaching experience. Compensation starts at $18-20/hr for assistant positions, commensurate with experience, and $30/hr for teaching positions. Fringe benefits included comped classes.
If interested, please send your resume with a thoughtful cover letter and Dance Explorers Assistant in the subject line.
