Job Title: After-School & Summer Program Coordinator (Part-Time, Growth-Oriented Role)
About ALDEN MOVES Dance Theater
At ALDEN MOVES, we invite students to adventure into dance—to discover freedom in movement, creativity in process, and artistry in expression. Rooted in classical training and propelled by contemporary exploration, we’re reexamining the institutional mold to move dance forward—and to show that dance, at its core, is more inclusive than exclusive.
Our approach emphasizes mastery of harmony rather than the pursuit of subjective perfection. From studio to stage, we create space for students to grow, explore, and share the artist within. At every level, we are making movement dance and making dance move.
About the Position
We’re looking for a strategic, mission-aligned After-School & Summer Program Coordinator who enjoys working with both children and parents, brings structure to creative environments, and is excited to grow with our studio as we enter a new chapter.
This is not an entry-level role. The right candidate brings a working knowledge of sales, marketing, and customer experience, and thrives in a dynamic environment that requires flexibility, ownership, and care—for our students, our systems, and our mission.
While administrative experience and comfort working with children are essential, this role is best suited for someone who also understands the many hats required in a small business and is interested in growing into leadership within an arts organization. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in how a studio operates—and evolves.
Position Details & Schedule
This is a part-time, in-person position (approximately 25–32 hours/week), with seasonal variation and opportunities for additional hours during performances, camps, and events.
Responsibilities shift to support camps and intensives. This includes assisting children ages 4–11 with design projects, supervising lunch and after-care, and completing administrative work during the latter part of the day and after-care hours.
-Serve as the operational backbone of the studio during assigned shifts—managing the front desk, responding to parent inquiries, maintaining systems, and ensuring a smooth daily flow
-Coordinate and carry out school pick-ups, including safely escorting students, supervising snack time, and preparing them for class
-Assist children’s classes and/or participate in the Dance Explorers teaching team (based on experience)
-Oversee the development and execution of Dance Explorers prop, costume, and set design projects—from initial concept conversations with teachers to material sourcing, sample creation, and clear staff briefing for execution
-Support registration, scheduling, and studio-wide parent communications, with ownership over Dance Explorers and summer programming communications
-Contribute to marketing and sales efforts, including email campaigns and social media, particularly for after-school and summer programs
-Support studio events and performances through both planning and execution
-Assist with grant writing and press outreach (training provided)
-Bring strategic thinking and initiative to day-to-day operations
-Report to the Director and Administrative Coordinator, working closely with them through daily check-ins to ensure systems and operations run smoothly and efficiently
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
-Is aligned with our mission and values around arts education
-Is ready for a responsibility-driven role in a small business environment
-Is punctual, reliable, and energized by a fast-paced, kid-centered setting
-Can balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail
-Is comfortable working within systems, processes, and spreadsheets
-Can move fluidly between administrative work, childcare responsibilities, and creative collaboration
-Has a long-term interest in contributing to the growth of an arts organization
-Communicates clearly and understands that leadership in a small team requires both ownership and execution
Required Qualifications:
-1–2 years of administrative experience in a studio, nonprofit, or educational setting
-Strong organizational and communication skills
-Experience working with children and engaging with families
-Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
-Ability to align vacation time with the studio calendar
-Availability for occasional evenings and weekend events
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree
-Experience with registration platforms (e.g., Sawyer) and creative tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite)
-Experience in sales, marketing, or customer success
Compensation & Benefits:
-Hourly compensation up to $20/hour, commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include complimentary dance and Pilates classes.
