Need a bike for commuting or just getting around town? This is the one! Recently tuned up and ready to get you through the fall and winter. Add some fenders for coverage, or install wider tires for more traction. Strong, lightweight rear rack, ready for a bag, basket, or panniers. The color, Iceland Metallic Green with Green Pearl Hyper-Highlight, is the same one that was used on the Cannondale Track and is absolutely beautiful! There are small scrapes in the paint throughout the frame and fork, and general wear to be expected from a 30-year-old bike. We can call it character.
PROS:
-3x7 drivetrain, wide gear range to get you up the hills easily and pedal fast on the flats, operated using trigger shifters
-Strong v-brakes with fresh brake pads; great stopping power with minimal effort
-Common standards for parts, so replacements down the line will be easy — 27.2mm seatpost, BSA68 threaded bottom bracket, 1-1/8" straight steerer tube, 1-1/8" stem with 31.8mm bar clamp, 100/135mm front and rear dropout spacing
-New cables, housing, tires, chain, brake pads
-Pretty sick looking
CONS:
-The top bottle cage boss on the seat tube has come loose (not uncommon for rivnuts). As a result, the rivnut spins with the bolt. This is possible to fix, but it will be a little more involved. Luckily, the bike comes with a bottle cage installed on the downtube!
-There is a large dent (images 9, 10, & 11) on the non-drive side of the bike on the bottom/side of the downtube. The frame is fine for commuting, but I would hesitate to push it to go off-road.
This is a BIG mountain bike, best for riders 6' 2"+
Seat tube length (center of bottom bracket to top of seat collar): 24"/60.9cm
Effective Top Tube Length: 24.3"/61.6cm
Ground to Top of Top Tube: 33.5"/85.1cm
