One of the very best racing bicycles you could buy in the late 1970's
this one is circa 1978-ish ,
a further developed Raleigh won the 1980 TDF
Built with lightweight 531 Reynolds tubing and ( mostly) Campagnolo GS components
original Brooks Saddle with Campy seatpost
Cinelli bars and stem
Weinmann brakes
Tubular wheels
tire on rear is brand new ( & still un-glued / never been ridden )
Rear rim is N.O.S. Fiamme Ergal - also never been ridden (!)
laced to a Campagnolo Nouvo Record Hub
Front rim: Mavic GP4 tire is like-new.
Campagnolo front & rear derailleurs
This is an amazingly good shifting bike w/super clear and positive engagement of each gear
brakes work well Frame-geometry is great - they got everything right back then.
This bike would be suitable for Eroica race as it is period-correct right now.
Would also be a great Sunday rider
Change the wheels to clincher-rims and make a commuter lock-up-bike,
it totally flies under the radar, i.y.k.y.k. or
You can fit a huge gravel-sized tire on this frame, if you want to build-up a cool gravel-bike
Look this bike up on Ebay you can buy these all day long for $700.
