If you're a velophile that loves vintage bikes, you know what this is. A beloved classic that's a definite head turner, this 1987 Stumpjumper Comp has had a lot of love put into it recently. The bike has been rebuilt from the frame up, using mostly original components. A period correct matching Saturne X28 wheelset with sealed cartridge bearing Specialized hubs was sourced since the original rims that were on the bike were no good, the cartridge bearings were replaced in both hubs. New components include the chain, cables/housings, brake pads, Panaracer Gravelking tires, ESI silicone grips, and Dimension cruiser bars. Everything else is what came on the bike when it was new - mostly Shimano XT componentry.
Perfect for someone 5'5 up to 5'8, this 17.5" frame is a joy to roll around town on. It's smooth, stable, and has the gear range to get you up and down a mountain side. Perfect if you're looking to slow down and enjoy the ride from A to B, but can also get you there quickly if wanted. Not something you should be locking outside very much at all, this is a bike that deserves to be appreciated for what it is. Survivors like this are getting harder and harder to find, most of them have been stripped down to a frame at this point, or ridden into the ground.
Happy to meet for test rides.
